Biography

As a fine artist, illustrator, muralist, tromp l'oeil artist and digital artist, Lisa captures the essence of homes as other artists capture the spirit of the human figure. Her illustrated work has been published by Simon & Schuster as a book's cover art and she has appeared on a nationally syndicated children's television show as the featured muralist. Her commissioned wall murals and tromp l'oeil work have adorned the walls of Rhode Island College and residential homes in M.A. As a house portraitist, Lisa has applied acrylics with the classical techniques she studied as an oil painter while earning her BA in art studio. She's a member of Rhode Island's Wickford Art Association. Lisa's digital piece, "Woodstock, CT", was accepted by the Association's open juried show and was part of their August exhibit.

After years of producing her work through several fine art mediums, Lisa is now devoted to introducing her originally developed digital technique created in 2005. She calls the technique, "Interpretive Photo Painting". Her new business, "Portraits by Pastille ... where Classical meets Contemporary", showcases this method. Each stroke, as in canvas painting, is applied with a tool that virtually simulates the tactile applications of brush and pen and ink. Seamlessly integrated into each piece are the traditional mediums of painting, drawing and photography. These affordable house portraits possess an overall sense of an organic, painterly quality, giving the viewer a feel of the human touch. Each house portrait is not only appreciated as an artistically pleasing piece but is also desired as a one-of-a-kind rendering, unique in its nature.

See "Canvas Painting" studio tab for Lisa's hand painted examples and the other studio tabs for other medium samples.
