Jodi Bonassi's work continues to portray people in the public settings of barbershops and cafes. "Times Star Barbers is currently being exhibited in the Particular Places Exhibition, curated by Bernard Chaet. Jodi has been developing another series, along with her continued studies, which explores a single woman's presence in different settings. This new series highlights the young woman lounging in a bathtub or sitting amidst a group of doors. Primarily self-taught, her visual narratives of day-to-day life have gained her reviews in the Los Angeles Times and the Boston Globe as well as other newspapers.

The All New Times Star Barbershop

A new version of the original Times Star Barbershop painting that was published in Harpers Magazine and stolen after receiving a Boston Review and a Best Painting Award by Marc Pactor, Curator for the Smithsonian. There seems to be alot of interest in the way I create the background, most notably the movement of my floors.
